The best punch recipe you'll ever find
If you have looked at your budget closely, you will have realised that alcohol tends to take up a fair chunk of the cost. Especially if you have friends that drink a lot! When you factor in each woman drinking roughly 4 glasses of wine, it tends to work out to a bottle each, which can really add up when each bottle costs $20.
This is where we have to get a little creative. It’s time to bring out the punch. Some people think punch is old fashioned, but you’d be surprised how many people actually love opting for something different to the norm – especially if it is presented in a jar with a cute stripey straw! Whilst the ingredients for punch can be a little pricey, it makes a lot, and you can top up with soft drink throughout the night. If you can attract even half of the women to try the punch, you will be saving $20 per person.
The key is to create a fun serving station that has a wow factor. Give it a cool backdrop, style it with props, use fun lights or a bold sign…whatever you do, be sure to create a feature. As for the glasses – jars are super easy to source, and straws are seriously cheap to buy on eBay. The key to making it work is a great drink dispenser – something that functions really well if guests are serving themselves.
Now for the important bit, the ingredients. This recipe is seriously delicious, easy to make, and has a good amount of alcohol to make your guests a little merry.
OYD’s Party Punch
Chop up the following and pop in to the drink dispenser:
- 6 limes
- 3 punnets of strawberries
- 4 oranges
- A bottle of champagne (doesn’t need to be expensive
- Half a bottle of Vodka
- A bottle of Agrum soft drink
- A bottle of Ginger Ale soft drink
- 2 litres of Orange & Pineapple juice
- ¼ bag of ice
Do a taste test and just keep adding some of the above to achieve the taste you like! Just make sure you have extra bottles ready to go – you’ll find that the first batch goes really quickly because it is so delicious.
Be ready to top as you go and you will have one amazing addition to your party. Key thing to note – when topping up, it’s done by taste! Just have a quick sip, and you can add whatever ingredient you feel is lacking…you really can’t go wrong as long as you don’t add an entire litre of Vodka at once! Better yet, outsource this duty to someone who will take true pride in ensuring that the taste is ‘just right’ and topped up all night.
